WildSoul Book Club
A uniquely wonderful online group, The WildSoul Book Club weaves together the best of a women's group, a traditional book club and a deeply fulfilling personal development course.
The winter course begins January 7th, runs for 8 weeks and will be grounded in our reading of Dancing in the Flames by Marion Woodman.
Winter is the perfect time for an inward journey; an exploration of your depths.
This is an inward journey that usually begins on a wild, stormy night. It takes great resolve to enter into the darkness of our own chaos, to give up the familiar path and begin to trust our own experience. The recognition and unconditional love of oneself is never a selfish journey. Most people, if challenged to love themselves unconditionally for fifteen minutes, reel in embarrassment. "What is love without judgment? How can I love myself so long as I am this assertive little prick? What does that mean—love unconditionally?" Ultimately, that is what the journey is about.
- Marion Woodman
If any of these describe you, this may be just what you've been looking for:
You feel like your relationship with yourself could use some nurturing.
You would like to be more present in your life and in your body.
You are looking to enhance and tap more deeply into your creativity.
Your soul has been calling loudly to you and you haven't known how to begin the journey.
You have always wanted to journal more but stalled every time you tried.
You have longed for a community of intelligent, thoughtful women.
You are curious about the role of stories and myths, dreams and archetypes in your life.
You just love this kind of stuff and know intuitively that this is for you.
WildSoul Book Club is a journey into feminine wisdom and mystery. Women today are immersed in a culture that demands that they remain focussed on a youthful appearance and outward beauty. We are missing the community, rituals, practices and stories that support us as we deepen into the rich experience of womanhood. We may have neglected to make time to attend to the beauty of our soul’s journey. We may feel we have no time for ourselves and yet we are full of life that has yet to be expressed.
The wisdom of the feminine sanctifies what it touches, making pure and efficient one’s deepest roots in the earth, making sacred one’s most awkward gestures and clumsy performances, one’s stuttering passions and stammering aspirations, unashamedly gathering all this into a wholeness and holiness where the commonest events of the flesh become a treasury of graces. - Anne Belford Ulanov
